Just a few reminders to help keep today safe and fun:
-Please ensure your child is dressed comfortably and appropriately for being outdoors for an extended period (e.g., hats, light fabrics, sunscreen).
-Our staff and administrators will be focused on supervising activities. For safety and efficiency, we kindly ask that families refrain from visiting campus today.
-For the safety of all students, only trained and approved volunteers will be assisting with Field Day. This event is not open to the public.
Attached you will find the Lunch Schedule for today. Please note that 2nd and 5th grade have adjusted times.

WE are participating in the HEB Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge and WE need your clean, dry, shopping bags, produce bags, bread bags, film, dry cleaning bags and newspaper bags. This is an aWEsome way for us to help our students learn about and care for our community and the environment. Plastic bags can be dropped off in the front or a student can deliver them to Mrs. James room.

We will not be conducting any live scenarios during our LOCKDOWN drill, meaning there will be no loud simulations, blank rounds, or explosive sounds.
“DRILL IN PROGRESS” signage will be posted at the front entrance to the school building.

I want to ensure everyone stays informed, so I’m sharing an important update from last night’s Growth & Planning Meeting.
During the meeting, three possible elementary consolidation plans were presented. Every proposed plan being brought forward to the JISD School Board includes the closure of Woodlake Elementary.

There are two remaining meetings where school closures will be discussed:
Saturday, February 14 at 9:30 am – JISD ERC, 8205 Palisades Dr., Live Oak, TX 78233
Monday, February 16 at 5:30 pm – JISD ERC, 8205 Palisades Dr., Live Oak, TX 78233
These meetings are open to the public, and public comment is allowed. If you wish to speak, please arrive early and complete the required form at least 30 minutes before the meeting begins.
